Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA)
The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) is Singapore’s national land use planning authority. URA prepares long term strategic plans, as well as detailed local area plans, for physical development, and then co-ordinates and guides efforts to bring these plans to reality. Prudent land use planning has enabled Singapore to enjoy strong economic growth and social cohesion, and ensures that sufficient land is safeguarded to support continued economic progress and future development.
Singapore Land Authority (SLA)
The Singapore Land Authority (SLA) main focus is on land resource optimisation. Responsible for the management of State land and buildings, land sales, leases, acquisitions and allocation, developing and marketing land-related information and maintaining the national land information database. It is also the national land registration authority, responsible for the management and maintenance of the national land survey system.
Council for Estate Agencies (CEA)
CEA’s principal functions are to license the estate agents (referring to the estate agencies) and register salespersons (referring to the property agents), promote the integrity and competence of estate agents and salespersons and engage in public education efforts to help consumers in property transactions.
Housing Development Board (HDB)
The Housing & Development Board (HDB) is Singapore’s public housing authority and a statutory board under the Ministry of National Development.
Singapore Academy of Law (SAL)
The Academy provides stakeholding services in sale and purchase transactions over newly developed private residential properties, commercial properties and executive condominiums under certain statutory schemes (the “Applicable Properties”). The Academy functions as a stakeholder in place of the Purchasers’ Solicitors for the last instalment payments. This involves a direct deposit service for Purchasers of the Applicable Properties to conveniently pay in their stakeholding monies through banking outlets near their homes or solicitors’ offices.
